The opening of the application was announced by the programs twitter handle yesterday. According to N-Power, the application into the scheme is free.
This development comes after the humanitarian ministry announced the disengagement of thousands of graduates comprising of both Batch A and B N-Power volunteers last week.
According to the N-Power website, over 200,000 youths have benefitted from the scheme in the last two years.
Requirements to apply for N-Power
The N-Power scheme is a Nigerian government youth empowerment program aimed at providing jobs and skill empowerment for unemployed youths.
To apply for the programme the minimum requirements you need to meet and will be used for selection include;
- Be an unemployed Nigerian citizen between the ages of 18 and 35
- Passing the relevant tests
- Willingness to Work and learn
- Ability to develop skills
To complete your application some of the documents you need to have available include;
- Bank Verification Number (BVN)
- Recent passport photograph either for jpeg or PNG files.
- Valid contact-Email address or working phone number
- Applicant degree and NYSC discharge certificate
The N-Power has both graduate and non-graduate category that unemployed youths can apply for. So you don’t need to have a degree to apply. For the graduate category, the scheme accepts qualifications such as Ordinary National Diploma (OND), Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE) and degrees.
How to Apply
To apply for the N-Power scheme you can click on the link HERE. (or goto https://npower.fmhds.gov.ng/site/ )
After opening the link you will need to put in your contact details (Email or Phone Number) and password in the section provided.
After clicking register, you will have to confirm the registration in the mail sent to you. Once the e-mail is confirmed, you will need to fill in your 11-digit BVN and date of birth.
After that, you will be taken to the Biodata and contact page, where you fill in your surname, first name and middle name. The names entered must be as it is written on your BVN.
On the Education and Programme page, you filling in your education. Here you can select if you are educated or not. For graduate applications, you will need to upload a soft copy of your degree certificates and NYSC certificate. Some of the programmes like N-Tech and N- health sub-programmes are only open to graduates.
Similarly, N-Power Health is just for youths with Bachelors Degree, HND or OND in health sciences like Medicine, Microbiology, Nursing, Public Health, Botany, Midwifery, Psychology or discipline for sciences).
After that, you will proceed to the Employment and other details page, where you will answer some questions and upload a valid government-issued identity card. Accepted IDs include; International passport, National ID card, Valid drivers licence, Permanent voters card.
Once you are done uploading, you will be taken to the Review and submit page where you can cross-check all the information entered before final submission. Upon submission, you’ll be given a unique ID number which you will use for further enrolment processes.
The submission completes the initial application to enrol in the Batch C of volunteers. If selected applicants will be entitled to a monthly stipend of 30,000 while gaining relevant skills and Knowledge from the scheme.
Applicants could also be deployed to schools, organisations, workshops, factories and other institutions to work and accumulate the much-needed working experience employers are always after.
